Quartz Maintenance

Cleaning

• For every day cleaning, you may use plant based spray cleaners such as Method Cleaner(Sold at Shoppers Drug Mart and most grocery stores)or mild, water diluted soap.
• You may use a plastic putty knife to scrape off dried up food or sauces.
• If you get a stain, try non-abrasive Scotch-Brite. If that doesn’t work give us a call to ask what can be done to remove the stain before doing anything else.

Things to avoid

• If you get things like oil, juice, coffee, red wine etc, do not leave it for very long as it could leave a stain.
• Avoid cutting directly on the quartz as it could damage the counter and dull your knife
• Do not put anything hot directly on the counter. E.g. tea kettles, hot frying pans, hot pots. Use heat pads to prevent damage.
• When washing dishes, be careful not to bang dishes or pots & pans on the edge of the sink cut-out as it could chip the edge.
• Do not put any kind of stone sealer on the quartz.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or pads, or strong chemical cleaners such as Mr. Clean, Windex, Vim, etc.
• Do not use vinegar or any kind of citrus to clean your counters.

(All of these cleaners may scratch or damage your counters.)
